Our black bear hunts are done over active bait sites. The stands consist of elevated platforms built in spruce and poplar trees. They are relatively close, 15 to 60 meters, which provides shooting opportunities for both the bow or rifle hunter.
This area also produces record book bears. With a combination of our preparation and your stealth, hunters may get the opportunity at one of these trophies.
We generally hunt this area in the second week of May. Normally this is when we have the most bear activity on the baits and the least mosquito activity in the blinds.
